I have a genuine passion for teaching and hope to become a professor some day; I have been working as a tutor for several years, and have extensive experience working with IB students. Currently projected an IB44 (6 in Eng. Lit), having already sat my French and Math exams. I am going to study health sciences in university, and already have several junior IB students that I have worked with one-on-one on both course content and internal assessments. I am able to create a friendly yet focused relationship with my tutees that allows for a more casual, yet stilll productive lesson; think of that smart friend explaining tricky questions to you during the lunch before a major test. I am able to provide my own resources, assessed material and notes to my students.
I prefer to focus on specifics, common pitfalls, and generally teach lecture style but with more 1-on-1 conversing, to ensure that my tutees do not fall behind. My lessons are most productive if my tutees already have a sense of the basic topics and need help understanding more complex ones, or applying their knowledge to questions. However, as an IB student myself, I understand that procrastination can get the best of us; so I am always willing to teach from the ground-up and focus on the aspects that earn the most marks. I recognize that different students have different goals and different amounts of time, so I always take that into account when preparing for classes and considering what to allocate time towards.
I understand that life can be unpredictable, especially in IB. I always try my best to work around YOUR schedule, so I am more than willing to do whatever is most convenient for you.
