About Marin
Hello! I am Marin, now majoring in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Immunology, and Disease at UofT. During high school, I served as Student Council President, founded my own STEM club, and organized the third West Japan Model United Nations. These experiences honed my communication and leadership skills, which I look forward to applying to help students succeed. My sessions are designed to boost academic performance while encouraging personal growth. I aim to help students not only excel in IB but also develop practical skills for college applications and life beyond high school, equipping them for future challenges. I am more than open to adapting to each student’s preferred learning style and welcome any feedback to improve our sessions along the way. Outside academics, I love playing volleyball and basketball and spending quality time with my cats. I am excited to share my passions and support you on your journey!
About your lesson
Especially in Group 4 and 5 subjects, I believe in the phrase "practice makes perfect." After teaching theory or addressing content a student may find challenging, I will test their understanding using questions from IB past papers. This approach encourages consistent practice and ensures they can confidently apply their knowledge in question-based scenarios. If students are more motivated by receiving homework or assignments, I am happy to provide those as well. In the students' interest, I will also offer critical feedback on IAs and lab reports to provide an additional perspective on their work. I will also share textbooks and other resources that were particularly useful during my IB journey, helping students maximize their studies. Beyond academics, I am eager to share both hard and soft skills, including time management strategies and tools I continue to use in college to balance academics and extracurricular activities.
