I love watching my students succeed. I like tutoring because I see it happen in real time. When someone comes to me and asks for help, I bear responsibility for them and their performance, they have trusted me and I cannot let them down. Whether they fail or succeed in their goals, that is on me. As such I put a lot of emphasis on the lessons, and don't like when my student strays from the content without learning. But I do still enjoy communicating with them of course, and learning about them, discussing unrelated topics. I personally play a lot of music, Piano, Cello, Bass, and currently learning some Violin. Having taught music I learned that people are very different and learn in unique ways, there is no one size fits all, and in order to be a good tutor, I need a flexible teaching style for them.

About your lesson

Firstly I ensure there is an order to the lessons, the lessons need to flow well to make it much easier to learn. As everyone is different I don't like to employ the same precise strategy on everyone, they all have different needs, but that doesn't make me mediocre at teaching everyone. I will learn what a new student likes in classes, and what helps them the most, and adjust everything, from my explanations to my presentation in order to make them the most comfortable. In school, having been a great student, I always went at my own pace and ensured I was comfortable and knew what I was doing all the time, which is what I want with my classes. Having one student at a time allows me to do just this, and lets me sink time into my students to better understand and help them lesson by lesson.
