I strongly believe in making learning accessible and inclusive, which is why I am interested in teaching students the way they learn. I have experimented with various learning methods from Asia and the United States, so I have a good idea of what many students think when they learn. I am willing to be flexible and adapt to the mentee’s learning style. I also undoubtedly believe that effort and smart work (not always just hard work!) will beat lazy natural talent. Looking forward to start teaching!
My goal as a tutor is to break down concepts in their simplest forms and then use those alongside logical reasoning to improve the mentee’s inference skills. Students can expect highly visual lessons. I love illustrating concepts and using analogies. Usually, learning a concept goes like this; 1. Addressing any background knowledge and making relevant connections to the concept 2. Using an analogy to introduce the new stuff 3. Active questioning to make sure the mentee is engaged and understanding 4. Practice till Perfect. Steps 3 and 4 are basically a cycle, till the mentee is confident enough to explain the concept back to me - flip classroom test.
Either a self care day to relax from the week or an intense work day so I can enjoy the weekend!
