I’m an M24 survivor and biomed student. Back-and-forth discussion and sharing of ideas has been how I’ve always learned best, and a technique I believe is highly under-utilised among IB students who tend to isolate themselves due to academic stress, or if they happen to not have a great subject teacher at school. I’m offering tutoring in History, Biology or English LangLit. I believe verbal communication of concepts and terminology is extremely important in both understanding and mastering IB Biology. If you’re looking to explore diverse and critical points of view (intersectionality, systems of oppression, etc) in History and LangLit, I’d love to speak to you about your ideas!
As mentioned, I’m a verbal (whether actually verbal or text) communicator and am most open to a more socratic approach that involves a back and forth discussion to develop your understanding of concepts and terminology. I believe that true understanding comes from weaving your knowledge into a web that you are able to communicate to another person by exploring the nooks and crannies of it all.
As an Eastern European expat, I was already familiar and interested in 19-20th century Russian history before the IB. My HL History course, to my pleasant surprise, comprised of 200 years worth of contemporary Russian history.
